ABOUT THE PLOUGH INN
Our Story
The Plough Inn stands as one of Shifnal’s most historic pubs, with roots dating back to around 1500. Its partially preserved Tudor façade has earned it a proud Grade II listing.
Shifnal itself has a rich past — granted market town status by King Henry III 1245 and later growing through coal mining, foundries and the railway. Inns like The Plough flourished to serve travellers and locals alike.

Our function room is ideal for birthdays, parties, and celebrations of any kind. With its own bar, catering facilities, and flexible setup, it’s perfect for seated meals or lively gatherings.
The space comfortably seats up to 70 guests or 100 including standing room. Whether it’s an intimate dinner or a big celebration, we’ll help you make it special.

Manager
Stacey has been with us for over a decade. She is usually busy cooking in the kitchen or sorting deliveries or running the bar. This is in addition to interviewing staff and sorting things out throughout the pub. Regulars love her cheeky smile and even cheekier banter. If there’s a problem Stacey will fix it.
Manager
Amy has been with us for over a decade and is responsible for our event planning and function room bookings! Our admin queen behind the scenes, she is mostly known for her fabulous yorkshire puddings and delicious gravy!
Bar Staff
Hi, I'm Ricky one of the friendly faces behind the bar! I've been part of the team for over six years now, serving up everything from the perfect pint to a great chat. My favorite part of the job is greeting our regulars and making sure everyone feels welcome
Owner
Fondly known as our 'Pub Mother', Lana quietly does all the behind the scenes business running. She often pops in and out to say hello to everyone keeping a caring and watchful eye on us all. Lana has been a pub owner for 18 years.
